Flight Safety Foundation – BARS

AeroSDB continues to develop and support the software for the FSF BARS program and is exited about the growth of  the Basic Aviation Risk Standard initiative of the Flight Safety Foundation since 2009.

The database manages a common standard and auditing process used by contracting companies to audit aviation operators against a common standard set by the resource sector to ensure compliance of a minimum standard for the safety of employees and equipment.

The BAR Standard was developed from an industry-identified need to establish a common safety audit standard that could be applied to on-shore resource sector aviation support activities. It provides contracting companies with the level of safety assurance required by their respective organizations.

The Standard provides a consistent audit model that allows member resource companies to share in the audits of operators all of whom have been subject to a consistent standard of audit.
